How do I play?
You command the king and his eight defenders, the bright pieces in the center. The Stranger commands the sixteen dark attackers at the edges. Tap a piece, then a glowing dot to move it.
Lead the king to any edge of the board to set him free. The Stranger wins if he traps the king instead.
Every piece moves straight — up, down, or sideways, any distance — and never jumps over another piece. Only the king may rest on the throne in the center.
Trap an enemy piece between two of yours along a line, and it is removed. The empty throne counts as one of your pieces. Moving between two enemies yourself is safe — only the one who closes the trap captures.
The Stranger captures the king only by surrounding him on all four sides (three sides and the throne, when he stands beside it). At the edge the king cannot be surrounded — so the rim is freedom.
Free the king in as few moves as you can — only the swiftest escapes are carved into the stone below.
